Dr. Leitner has been practicing physical therapy for over 40 years. After working in a variety of hospital based settings and clinics throughout the area, including Centinela Sports Medicine/Kerlan Jobe Orthopedics and The Pritikin Longevity Center in Santa Monica she went into private practice focusing on orthopedic, sports medicine and manual therapy in and around the Venice/Marina del Rey area.
Dr. Leitner is very active in clinical education presenting workshops and seminars on a variety of topics in rehabilitation and Pilates throughout the Southern California area. In addition, she has contributed to numerous multimedia projects.
Blending traditional physical therapy, best current practices/research based protocols and Pilates based rehab, Dr. Leitner is uniquely qualified to guide her patients from injury or physical trauma back to their sport, fitness activity or just everyday function. After a thorough biomechanical evaluation, Dr. Leitner will develop a specific treatment plan to help resolve muscle imbalance, restore mobility and strength and resolve pain using hands on and exercise specific approach for which she is well-known by local doctors and trainers throughout the local area.
Dr Leitner also makes Custom foot orthotics using either traditional plaster casting or computerized digital scanner. Once the foot is molded and appropriate corrections are made, the orthotic can address pathological foot and lower extremity misalignments to resolve foot/arch pain and enhance performance whether it is for walking, running or specific sports.

Dr. Leitner has a broad background in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation with emphasis on wellness, fitness, patient education and injury prevention. Home exercise instruction is part of every plan of care, enabling the patient to take control of their recovery.
